Price: $ 10.00
This introduction to technology and Big Data case can be used in any business course. In this scenario, 5,000 rows of sales data for a company for the previous year are provided. Data in Excel have been joined, cleaned, and scrubbed. Students are required to create three Pivot tables: product by salesperson, product by region, and product by customer type. Based on the Pivot tables, students are required to answer a series of analytic questions. To answer the analytic questions, the values in the Pivot tables must be aggregated in different ways to show averages, counts, sums, and also percent of column and percent of row. The numbers are unique to each student. As a result, the correct answers to the analytic questions will be different and unique for every student. The case is solved using Microsoft Excel and a free mini tutorial and data set is available.
